St. Simon’s Church Walk

40 people took part in the walk from St. Simon’s R.C. Church, Partick to the David Livingstone Centre at Blantyre on 4th May 2013.

This walk remembers the fact that David Livingstone did this walk twice most weekends to and from university so that he could save one penny cart fare.

On 19th March approximately 160 people attended a service at Hamilton URC to mark the bicentenary of the birth of David Livingstone.

It is hoped to have a full report of the service on this Site by the end of today 20th March. We also hope to have a link to a video of the complete service within a week – so watch this space.

United Services for Holy Week in Hamilton

This year the services are being held in the Old Parish Church.

Sunday 24th March – Palm Sunday 6:30 p.m.

Monday 25th to Friday 29th – Services at 7:30 p.m.

There is also a series of brief services in St. John’s Parish Church on Good Friday on the hour and half hour from 12:00 until 3:00. The final service will include the Sacrament of the Lords’ Supper.

Easter Sunday 31st March – services in the Old parish Church and at Chatelherault at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast in the Old Parish Church Halls.
